Maca & Almond Butter Raw Choc

Beyond rest, and stressing less, Self-Care, is also about giving yourself some extra love -- and what's better than love in the form of chocolate? Though, not just any chocolate, we're talking the nourishing, gooey, delicious and guilt-free kind (actually, F*%$ guilt-- that's toxic, let's insert: high-vibes kind instead, right?!) This DIY recipe is packed with adaptogenic power root, Maca (a personal fave), high-flavanol cacao, almond butter & raw honey for light sweetness and a yummy gooey-ness. We like to think of chocolate-making as a self-care ritual (we call this kitchen meditation) -- it helps clear & calm the mind, while the taste-testing (mandatory obviously...) floods the body with mini hits of endorphins and high vibrations... it's the best.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted cacao butter

  • 1 cup of cacao powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 Tbsp Maca

  • 1Tbsp Almond Butter

  • 1 Tbsp Raw Honey (can sub for maple syrup or coconut nectar)

  • Pinch Himalayan Salt

Topping (optional)

  • 1 tbsp Cacao Nibs

  • 1 tbsp culinary rose petals

  • 1 tsp lemon rind

  • 1 tbsp almond flakes

Melt the cacao butter in a double burner, or on the stove-top very gently (you can also google this for additional ways), once melted, pour the cacao butter into a mixing bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and mix really well --ensuring the mix is nice and smooth! If it feel's a little too runny, add more cacao powder. (and, if you make it too thick, just add more melted cacao or some coconut oil!).

Pour onto a baking sheet lined tray, or plate works too (AND if you're extra fancy/cool, chocolate molds are amazing!) -- sprinkle with magical toppings and place in the freezer to set for about 1-2 hours. Viola!

PS. keep it stored in the fridge between eating...
